Our team is driven by Christiaan who made a mark for himself as executive chef at two iconic estates in the Cape Winelands. A Chef who was often haled as someone who genuinely cares for the provenance of produce, people and the environment. He has been a trailblazer (recipient for EatOut Sustainability Award and Gourmet Guide Abalobi Provenance Award) in the industry, exploring means to reduce the impact of the food supply chain on the health of the planet and its effect on all of life. In recent years, Christiaan was introduced to the principles of regeneration and the concept of living systems through a chance meeting with the team from the Savory Hub SA and later nRythm. It was a great aha moment for him as he realized that these Regenerative principles and a living systems approach could not only be applied to the production of food but could also be applied to empowering people, communities and business.
Once again trailblazing, this time through having studied the principles of Regeneration, Christiaan allows for broader transformations within industry which are sorely needed at this time. Integrating and building teams was always a key focus and natural affinity for Christiaan, therefore the living systems approach to empowering people and managing business, was a piece of the puzzle that set his life in a new direction.
